Guidelines for Use of the Wasatch Commons Common House

If you are sponsoring a gathering/group/event that is not PRIMARILY a Wasatch Commons Event (more than 50 percent of the participants are NOT Wasatch Commons residents), we ask that you use the following guidelines and checklists to help things go more smoothly for everyone.

Be immediately available to your group AT ALL TIMES. If you find it necessary to leave the event/gathering, you must designate another Wasatch Commons resident to cover for you while you are unavailable.

There is a nominal FACILITY USE FEE of 1) $5 per 2 hours for up to 10 persons, 2) $10 per 2 hours for up to 20 persons, and 3) $10 per 2 hours PLUS $1 for each person over 20 in attendance. (Amended: Additional hours are paid for as a percentage of the appropriate amount.) This will help cover operating expenses and supplies. Please make payment to Wasatch Dining committee.

Please supply ALL YOUR OWN food and beverages.

Please ask before using any of the food and beverages already in the facility (on shelves, in pantries, or in the freezer or refrigerator).

You are ultimately responsible for making sure that the Common House is left CLEAN after your event. Wasatch Commons residents do NOT have the responsibility to set up, cook, or provide clean-up services for your event.

You may use all dishes, eating utensils, kitchen & cooking equipment, etc. that are available in the facility.

You will be held responsible for replacing and/or repairing any broken or damaged items that occur during your sponsored event (you may want to approach your group regarding this).

Please remind your group that the Common House is an extension of all of our homes and that residents may be coming in and out of the Common House for a variety of reasons (laundry, bringing in groceries for the next day's meal, checking menus, picking up mail, etc.). We would like to observe mutual respect and friendliness in our interactions.

Remind your guests that the Common House is a nonsmoking facility, and show them where they may smoke (rear/south side of the Common House only).

The kids' playroom and outdoor play equipment may be used only when there is adult supervision AT ALL TIMES. Kids are NOT allowed upstairs.

Food and/or beverages are allowed in the dining room and kitchen ONLY (e.g., not in the kids room, sitting room, or upstairs).

Please review and sign the checklists along with your guests.
